How regularly should Kanna plants be watered ?

Kana naturally grows in a desert climate. However some growers treat the plants like a normal crop and water it regularly. The result is fast growth - if given enough root space about 6 months or so to reach  maturity.

The plant have a tendency to die sooner then however but by then they have normally made more seed and can be sown again.
